Chapel, Alberton, at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating.
Fenton passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on
November 16, 2017, at the age of 57.
He was the dear brother to Betty Jeffery of Cornwall, P.E.I.,
and is also survived by many cousins and friends. He was predeceased
by his parents, Richard F. and Lucy (nee Oatway)
Jeffery.
Fenton graduated from Acadia University, where he studied
Biology and Computer Science. Over the years he held a number of
leadership roles in a variety of employment and volunteer
activities. He had worked in the agricultural, fisheries, tourism,
social services, seniors’ health, and service sectors. His
numerous volunteer activities included the ERC Concepts Board of
Directors, Alberton and Area Development Corporation, West Prince
Angel Network, West Prince Seniors Expo, Alberton Historical
Preservation Foundation, and the Northport Development Inc., as well
as serving four terms on the Alberton Town Council. He was a dutiful
son to his disabled father and later served as his mother's primary
caregiver as she progressed through the various stages of dementia. He
touched the lives of many people.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home
beginning at 10:15 a.m. to share memories of Fenton prior to the
memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service.
Interment will take place at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery in Alma,
the final resting place of his parents, as well as his paternal
grandparents, two sets of great-grandparents, and a great-great
grandmother.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Alzheimer
Society of P.E.I. or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society (Atlantic
