The death occurred peacefully, at Western Hospital, Alberton, on Sunday, October 15, 2017, with her loving husband by her side, of Carolyn "Connie" Bella Smith (nee Fitzgerald), of Inverness, age 61 years. Cherished wife of Terry Smith. Born on December 17, 1955, in Inverness, to the late George and Ruth (Coughlin) Fitzgerald.

Loving mother to Terry (Stella) and Kevin (Lisa). Beloved grandmother to Faith, Nicole, Tyler, Ryan, Landon and Lainey.  Dear step-daughter to George Lynch. Connie is also survived by siblings: Joyce Coughlin (Gabe Myla); Eddy (Donna); John (Yvonne); Elaine (Leith) Milligan; Paula (Nelson) Cormier; and Audrey (William) MacLaurin. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Marie Fitzgerald, Betty Fitzgerald, Carolanne Smith, Brenda (Tony) Buckner; and Janice (Val) Piwtorasky, and by brothers-in-law, David Smith and Gary MacDonald.

Connie was predeceased by her parents, her parents-in-law, Vera and Jim Smith, siblings Albert, Almira, Bernadette, Jerry, Roger, Shirley, and by brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd Coughlin and John Comeau, Wanda (late Earl) Connelly and Nancy (late Harold) Culleton.

Resting at Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday October 18th, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday morning from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Ann Bush officiating. Interment in St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Foxley River.
