The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, of John Peter McNeill, of Alberton, age 69 years. Born at Alberton on January 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Frank H. and Dorothy M. (nee Kelly) McNeill.

John was a schoolteacher, and taught at the Alberton District Regional High School. He also worked as fisherman, working  alongside with his father. He is survived by his siblings, David (Judy) of Alberton, Jim (Irene) of Mississauga, Ken of Winnipeg, Heather McNeill of Edmonton, Mary (Mohan) Ragbeer of Hamilton, and Dorothy (Baden) Sexton of Doaktown, NB.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Andrew MacDonald, Celebrant. Interment later in the church cemetery.
