Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, October 15, 2016, with her loving family by her side, of Kathleen Mary Bernard, of the Rev. W.J. Phillips Residence, Alberton, age 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Bernard, who predeceased her in August 1970. Born at Miminegash, PEI on January 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mae (nee Thibodeau) Gallant.

She will be forever remembered and loved by her children, Phyllis (Bob) Profit, the Late Bennie (Eileen), Marlene (Allan) Gaudet, Pat (Joanne), Donnie (Eileen), Deborah (Cletus) Keough, Albert (Janet), Sheldon (Marion), Carol Ann (Doug) Lyon, Gilbert (Marcella), Shirley (Blaine) Hutt, Tesa (Kevin) Bouchey, Emmanuel (Connie), Blair (Leanne), and Colleen (Robert) Arsenault. She will be sadly missed by her 45 grandchildren and by her 58 great-grandchildren.

Dear sister to Elaine (late Ray) Cormier, Myrtle (Hanson) Smith, Bobby (late Theresa), George (Velda), Mary (Don) Jones, Phillip (Stella), Gladys (Mike) Spin, Judy, Ronnie (Late Lorna). She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Edna Gallant, Leona Gallant, and Betty Gallant. She was predeceased by her son Bennie in 2004 and by siblings, Goldie, Wilbert, Harvey, Dorothy and Freddie.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel, Alberton for visiting hours Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Wednesday afternoon from the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, for funeral mass at 4:00 p.m., Rev. Andrew MacDonald, Celebrant. Interment in the church cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Rev. W.J. Phillips Residence would be gratefully appreciated.
