Peacefully at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O'Leary, on Saturday, September 17, 2016, of Stella Mary McRae, formerly of Judes Point, age 97 years. Beloved wife of the late Edward McRae, who predeceased her in 1998. Born at DeBlois, P.E.I. on January, 31,1919, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Ida (nee Fennessey) Bernard.

Loving mother to Roy (Nowell) of Judes Point; James of Tignish; Ann (David) McIsaac of Enmore; Gerald (Cecilia) of Big Island, N.S.; Donna (Greg) Grant of Tyne Valley; Annette McRae of Ellerslie; Earl (late Tracey) of Tignish; Elmer (Sandra) of Halifax; and Ernest  of Tignish. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Dear sister to Clifford (Julia) Bernard of Tignish; Valma (Marlene) of Ottawa; and Freda (Mary) Bernard of Ottawa. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Gerald Pickle of Tignish.

She was predeceased by two daughter, Frances, and Christine  & Leo in infancy, great-granddaughter, Hailey, daughter-in-law, Tracey, and by siblings, Alvin (late Emelina), Edgar, Bertha, Ruth and Edna.

Stella was a faithful member of St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, and was a member of the Tignish Council of the CWL for 66 years.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday evening 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, on Thursday morning, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant.

Interment in the Church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, The Tignish Seniors Coop Home, or to the Tignish Council of the C.W.L. would be gratefully appreciated.

The Tignish Council of the C.W.L. will hold prayers for their departed member Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.
