The death occurred peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, September 1, 2016, with his loving family by his side, of John Thane O'Brien, of Cascumpec. Loving companion of Charmaine Ellsworth, age 52 years. Born at Summerside, PE, on February 3, 1964, he was the cherished son of John and Yvonne nee Gallant O'Brien.

Loving father to Devon (Kendra) of Elmsdale, and Chansey (Mike) Buchanan of Pleasant Grove. Loving grandfather to Gretta, Raya and Sadie. Dear brother to Beverly (Larry) Gallant of Saint John, NB, Debbie (Kevin) McNeill of Elmsdale, Kenny O'Brien of Calgary, Roxanne O'Brien (Paul) of Edmonton, Derek O'Brien (Liz) of Calgary. He is also survived by Charmaine's family members, Dorothy Ellsworth of St. Lawrence, Kerry (Nicole) Ellsworth of St. Lawrence, Lisa McCarthy (Dave) of Cornwall, Ryan Costain (Melanie) of St. Lawrence and Sabrina Costain (Jeremy) of Charlottetown. He will be sadly missed by his uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by grandparents, Edward and Evelyn Gallant, Jarvis and Regrata O'Brien and Charmaine's father, Claude Ellsworth.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday afternoon from the E. Gerald Rooney Memorial Chapel at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Sheila McCrea-MacCallum officiating.
