Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western
Hospital, Alberton, on Thursday, June 9, 2016, with her family by her
side, of Lydia Theresa Doucette, beloved wife of the late Austin
Doucette, of Tignish, age 89 years.
Born at Nail Pond, P.E.I., on October 10, 1926, she was the
daughter of the late Medric and Madaline (nee Gaudet)
DesRoches.
Lovingly remembered by her children, Elaine (Edward) Doucette
of Tignish; Hazel (Clayton) Perry of DeBlois; Eddie (Sally) of
Skinners Pond; Nancy Doucette of Tignish. She is also
survived by sons-in-law, Earl Gavin, of Ascension, and Bill Pether, of
Toronto. She will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by her parents, her husband Austin, her daughters, Lynda Pether and
Joanie Gavin, and by her son, Lloyd Doucette.
Lydia was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary as well
as a member of the C.W.L.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours
Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday afternoon from St.
Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 3:00 p.m..,
Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment in the Church
cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Palliative
Care Unit of the Western Hospital Alberton would be gratefully
appreciated.
Members from the Tignish Branch #6 Royal Canadian Ladies
Auxiliary will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home
Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. Also member from the Tignish council of
the C.W.L will hold prayers for their departed member Friday eveing at
at 7:00 P.M.
