Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Saturday, January 9, 2016, of Amy Theresa Hogan, formerly of Tignish, age 86 years. Wife of the late Francis P. Hogan. Born at Peter Road, on May 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James and Laura (nee Handrahan) Harper.

Lovingly remembered by her children, Howard (Lucina) of St. Felix; Laura (Elmer) Gaudet of Pickering, Ont.; James (Darlene) of Hogan Road, Tignish; Theresa (Ken) Noseworthy of York; Stephen (Anne) of Leoville; Sheila (Boyd) Corcoran of Pownal; and Tracy (Danny) Wedge of Anglo. Dear sister of Freda Gavin of Anglo. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Mark (Sue) Waite. She will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter Angie, and by siblings, Claude Harper, Grace Nelligan, Florence McPhee, Dorothy Doyle, Dan Harper, Mary Gavin, Laura Gavin and Dora Shea.

She was a faithfull member of St. Simon and St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Tignish, and a valued member of the Tignish Branch #6 Ladies Auxillary for over 40 years.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant. Interment later in the Church cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials to the Maplewood Manor or to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated.

The Tignish Branch #6, Royal Canadian Ladies Auxillary will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:45 p.m.
