At the Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital, O'Leary, on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, with her loving family by her side, of Velma Mary Gallant, beloved wife of the late Albert Gallant, formerly of Puisvillle, age 73 years. Born at Duvar, P.E.I., on April 24, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (nee Phillips) Arsenault.

Dear mother to: Donat of Bloomfield; Danny of Elmsdale; Junior (Vickie) of Piusville, Wayne (Patricia) of Bloomfield; Kevin (April Butler) of Alberton; Sandra (Grant) MacCollum of Alberton, and Corey of Piusville. Cherished grandmother to Chad, Melissa, Vanessa, Chris, Bradley, Emmalee, Tanner, Paiton, Flora Jane, Selena and Katie. Great-grandmother to Dylan, Dakota, Sophia and Cohen. Dear sister to: Everett (Carmel) Arsenault of Alberton; Albert Arsenault of Charlottetown; Oscar (Sue) Arsenault of Alberton; Howard (Rennie) of Burlington Ont.. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Jackie (Bernice) Gallant of O'Leary; Olive (Rita Melanson) of Moncton; Marcella (Hedley) Costain of Alberton; Theresa McNeill of Alberton; Robina Trainor of Moncton; Angelina Reid of Moncton; Priscilla Costain of Alberton; and Nelson (Joanne) Gallant of Summerside. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Joseph Gallant, sons, Wendell and Stanley, daughter-in-law, Wendy Gallant, parents, Thomas and Mary, step-father, Frank Richard, brothers, Gerald, Harold and Arnold, brothers-in-law, Ralph McNeill and Major Costain, sisters-in-law, Gladys, Molly and Norma Arsenault, and nephew, Donnie Arsenault.

Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday morning from St. Anthony's Church, Woodstock, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Danny Wilson, Celebrant. Interment later in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
